Hola amazing friends and family! Its been a week in the CCM and it has been new experience after new experience! It was a 10 hour flight to Santiago. I sat next to these cool guys from argentina and was able to talk to them most of the flight about the gospel. It was an awesome taste of what being a missionary is like! When we got off the plane, we met this guy who couldnt speak a lick of english. He was holding a sign with the churchs name on it. We followed him and he led us to a bus which thereafter drove us over to the CCM. Every day we have been in the classroom trying to learn spanish. Im doing pretty well, everyone is saying Im one of the best in our group! Im officially one of the disignated piano players for all of the meetings... All the other missionaries cant comprehend how I play the piano hahah. My companions name is elder brinkerhoff. He loves to talk about his girls back at home and is having kind of a hard time adapting. at first I was annoyed with him but I decided to just be kind and listen. It was like this for a couple days until I really started to enjoy being around him! Nothing about him changed but my perception was different. That taught me that I could get along with anyone if I was just simply kind. I love my companion and I love the other missionaries! At every meal, they all gather around me wanting to talk to me. Apparently they think Im funny! hahah. I feel very close with them. Speaking of the meals, Im finding myself becoming a lot more tolerant of food! I dont eat as much as the other missionaries, but Im eating! A couple days ago, we started teaching simulated investigators. When we started, my companion and I were struggling a little. Although yesterday, we had a lesson with a lady named amy and it was amazing! We taught the restoration and how to pray and the spirit was so strong! There will be times when Im sad because I miss my family and whatnot, but I quickly get out of it because I know Im where Im supposed to be! Today we went through the temple. We did a endowment session and sealings. It was awesome! Its fun to look out the window of my room and see the temple everyday. I love you all and I know this gospel is true!! God loves us and wants us to be happy! I know if any of you are hesitant about the book of mormon or any gospel truth, you can pray to heavenly father and receive an answer that it is true. I love this gospel!
Love you all, Elder Everton
